    The H.M.S Hermes lies between 40 and 53 metres.  

    Minimum certification requirement is Tec 45, air or trimix, or equivalent.

    Twin cylinders and deco stages are provided. 

    50% nitrox deco gas and 100% O2 stages are available.

    If divers are qualified trimix fills can be provided.

    • 4.5 grade (99.995%) balloon gas helium TMX 21/35 helium supplement is available at local additional cost.

    • 5.5 grade (99.9995%) High purity helium TMX 21/35 helium supplement is available at local additional cost.

    Facilities available:

    • FULL TRIMIX GAS blending system,handled by Feli “Trimix blender instructor”

    • 12 litre Luxfer twin cylinders with isolator manifolds.

    • About 30 stages with stage kits for accelerated decompression starting at 21m and also O2 deco stages.

    • For CCR - Oxygen booster in house

    • 3 ltr cylinders and 2 ltr cylinders for rent.

    • Plenty of back up gas on every boat.

  • The Wreck

    H.M.S Hermes is the only intact wreck of an aircraft carrier that was sunk in action, on the planet. It is an extraordinary privilege to be able to visit this underwater British war grave. The vessel was sunk on 9 April, 1942, after being attacked by several Japanese bombers.

    Suggested Dive Itinerary

    Acclimatization Dive (42–45m)

    Within the stunning black coral garden. Observe the immense schools of fish surrounding the wreck. Get accustomed to the diving conditions and refresh deep-water skills. Water temperature at 40m is typically around 27°C.

    Anchor and Armaments Tour

    Explore the anchor chains and forward heads. View anti-aircraft armaments, 5.5-inch BL guns, and live ammunition boxes.

    Superstructure Exploration

    Visit key features such as the monkey bridge, crow’s nest, and depth charges. Discover the rangefinder, a highlight of the wreck.

    Propeller Tour

    Admire the ship’s propellers and the vast marine life that now inhabits the wreck.

    Flight Deck & Weapons Debris Dive

    Continue exploring the propeller section. Observe depth charges, cannons, and remnants of the flight deck.
